H4M Children

In the state of Mississippi, 31% of children suffer from food insecurity.

52% of elementary students are scoring below the standard in reading and math.

17% of high school students do not graduate, with over 28% ending up incarcerated or in the Juvenile Justice System.

Real hope is wanting the best of life for all, which includes “the least of them.”

Faith brings about unity, because not only do you want the best of life for them – but you believe in them. You believe in their well-being. You believe in their right to have life and earn a decent living.

This kind of faith is believing that every human being has the right to live and believe as they want. Our acts of kindness or charitable effort is in vain if we do not believe in the children we are helping.

What good is it to believe in an Eternal God, of whom we are created to worship, yet not believe in the people that he commanded us to serve?

We serve the people we believe in. Hope, therefore, considers others. This hope is about more than just believing in them – it is wanting for them what we believe in for ourselves. Real hope is treating each other the same way we want to be treated. It means desiring others to have the same rights and access to the same things that you have the right and access to.

Every human being, at a minimum, has the right to access basic needs – food, water, shelter, clothing, and healthcare. This is our basic hope for our children. We start first by acting on our hope, in faith. The corresponding action to our faith and hope is love. We must hope for them as we help them.
