WHAT IS HOPEFEST

DONATE

HopeFest 2024 will be October 19th at Smith Park in downtown Jackson, MS.
This Family-focused event will give Mississippians from across the state and people from around the world an opportunity to experience God-inspired joy by sharing resources and celebrating family's and community's achievements across the state.

31% of Mississippi's children do not have access to enough food and/or food that is healthy and nutritious. 37 of the 82 counties in Mississippi have higher rates of food insecurity than the entire nation.

--------------------------------

Every year, more than 750,000 people in the United States have a stroke. About 610,000 of these are first time stroke victims.

Mississippi has the highest stroke mortality rate in the U.S.

---------------------------------

TOGETHER, if YOU start today, WE can increase the chances of our children not continuing in poverty and increase the chances of our residents surviving a stroke injury!

According to the Centers for Disease Control, (CDC), Stroke is a leading cause of disability and 5th cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of serious long-term disability for adults. Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke.

Every 3.5 minutes, someone dies of stroke.

WE can totally demolish the illiteracy rate of our children, not only in Mississippi but, across the country. By launching an all-out offensive strategy against Child hunger and Child poverty - we will totally incapacitate illiteracy at every elementary grade level.

Year after year many of Mississippi's 3rd graders are not proficient in reading and math. With an average of 46% of our children suffering from food insecurity and poverty. Bread can feed a child for a day. But education is teaching them how to fish.

The proceeds for this year's HOPEFEST will aid community organizations that are improving the quality of life for All Children! This is another way you can have and help "Hope4Mississippi!"

TOGETHER, WE can decrease the number of teens giving birth. The likelihood of a teen giving birth to a baby under their birth weight, is great. Many of these children do not live to see their 1st birthday. In some areas in Mississippi, low birth weight is as high as 27% and the teen birth rate is as high as 125%. In 2023, the leading cause of infant death in the U.S. was low birth weight.
